Community neighbors warn of potential frauds
Residents in the Bonita area have raised concerns about a potential scam carried out by individuals posing as Verizon representatives. According to the residents, these supposed agents visit homes offering attractive and affordable telecom service packages. The alleged scammers provide links to websites that request users' personal information. The link in question is: lifeonverizon.verizonwireless.com/content/vcg/inspicio/billing-credit.html.
One affected resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, shared their experience: "The supposed salesperson asked for my personal information, and when I questioned why the webpage displayed outdated information from 2020, he tried to convince me by showing conversations with supposed satisfied customers. However, when I checked his phone, I noticed that the language of the conversations was neither English nor Spanish."
The seller carried a paper badge with the Verizon logo.
This situation has caused concern among Bonita residents, who fear becoming victims of identity theft or financial fraud. Local authorities and Verizon have been alerted, and residents are advised not to provide personal information to strangers and to verify any offers or promotions directly with the company through its official channels.
Those who have fallen victim to the scam are encouraged to file the appropriate reports.
