The al-Ahli Hospital housed approximately 2,000 people

The Gaza Ministry of Health has reported that an Israeli airstrike has left over 500 Palestinians dead in the al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza, with the majority of the victims being children and women. If confirmed, this tragic event would be the worst Israeli bombing in the five wars that have taken place between Israel and Palestine, as well as Hamas, since 2008.

The al-Ahli Hospital is a Christian-oriented healthcare center that was sheltering around 2,000 displaced individuals who had left their homes in search of safety due to the constant bombardment in the region.

Amidst the chaos, various mediators are making multiple efforts to unlock external humanitarian aid for the millions of civilians caught in the crossfire.

The wounded continue to pour into Gaza's hospitals as a result of the intense attacks that have affected the outskirts of the southern cities of Rafah and Khan Younis. Basem Naim, the former Minister of Health and a prominent member of Hamas, has reported 27 deaths in Rafah and 30 in Khan Younis, both cities located in southern Gaza.

A reporter from The Associated Press has witnessed around 50 bodies being brought to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis since early Tuesday morning, where relatives came forward to claim the bodies wrapped in white sheets, some of which were soaked in blood.

The Israeli military has stated that their attacks are aimed at Hamas hideouts, infrastructure, and command centers. So far, these attacks have claimed the lives of at least 2,778 people and left another 9,700 wounded in Gaza, according to the Ministry of Health in the region. It is worth noting that nearly two-thirds of the fatalities were children, as reported by Medhat Abbas, a member of the Ministry of Health. Despite the attacks, Hamas militants continue to launch rockets from Gaza into Israel.
